Councilwoman Yaroslavsky Issues Statement Following Violence at UCLA

LOS ANGELES – Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky issued the following statement following the violence that unfolded Tuesday night at UCLA: 

“UCPD’s response last night was both too slow and ineffective in protecting student safety. In failing to control the situation, students and others on campus were left vulnerable to violence that has no place on our college campuses. We need a full investigation into what happened last night, including the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for violent acts.

LAPD will remain on site along with other law enforcement organizations for as long as necessary to reestablish a safe environment for students to attend classes.”
