LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, the Los Angeles City Council voted 12-1 to pass the revised FY 2026-27 budget, following weeks of public hearings, department-by-department review, and extensive analysis by the Chief Legislative Analyst and City Administrative Officer.
The final budget preserves the core structure of the Mayor’s proposed budget while making targeted adjustments to strengthen the City’s fiscal position, protect core services, and reflect priorities raised by Councilmembers and the public.

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles City Council approved a $65 million investment yesterday to accelerate the installation of solar-powered streetlights across the city, a major step toward addressing widespread outages and improving safety in neighborhoods.
The initiative, introduced by Councilmembers Katy Yaroslavsky and Eunisses Hernandez, will fund the conversion of tens of thousands of eligible streetlights to solar power. By reducing reliance on copper wiring, the program targets one of the leading causes of outages: copper wire theft.

LOS ANGELES — Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky today announced a landmark agreement to close and remediate the West Pico Drill Site, a longstanding source of health and environmental concerns in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood.
