Local and State Leaders Condemn Vandalism and Intimidation at UC Regent Jay Sures’ Home

February 11, 2025|News

Los Angeles, CA — In response to the recent incident targeting UC Regent and UTA Vice Chairman Jay Sures, a coalition of local and state leaders has issued the following joint statement: “We unequivocally support the right to peaceful protest, but no one has the right to threaten families, vandalize property, or trespass on private property. Intimidation and violence are unacceptable and have absolutely no place in our city. Targeting someone at their home—especially because of their identity or beliefs—is a reckless and dangerous escalation that undermines our community’s values. We appreciate LAPD and UCPD’s efforts to prevent further escalation and call on law enforcement to continue their investigation to ensure those responsible are held fully accountable."
