Motion From Councilwoman Yaroslavsky to Accelerate Affordable and Supportive Housing Development on City-Owned Land Passes Los Angeles City Council
LOS ANGELES - Earlier today, the Los Angeles City Council approved a motion by Councilwoman Yaroslavsky to eliminate a 2019 rule that forced affordable and homeless housing developers to replace all parking spaces when building on city-owned parking lots. “We are in a severe housing and homelessness crisis. We should be focusing our resources to build housing for people, not for cars,” Councilwoman Yaroslavsky said.
